WE ARE A VERY DIVERSE NATION in terms of our people and our land. Maybe ol' Chris had it right no matter if he wasn't where he thought he was nor did it really matter back in 1492 what we were called as long as we WERE...& still are.
WHAT MATTERED is that we survived it all, survived the Brits onslaught, survived two world wars and damn near a third, and now we MIGHT even survive the Republicans. The Koch Brothers, Art Pope, the Waltons, and Exxon Mobil.
If you haven't traveled around this great land of ours YOU are missing out. Missing a great adventure.
